About the Role
You will manage your own caseload of complex childcare matters, working within a specialist and supportive family law team. This is a role that offers genuine purpose alongside strong professional development in a firm with a clear and principled approach to family law.
Childcare Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex childcare matters including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, adoption and private law applications
- Representing clients in court and conducting advocacy where required
- Providing specialist and strategic legal advice on child protection, policy and procedures
- Advising on contact with children in care and all aspects of private law proceedings
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships with empathy and professionalism
- Contributing to the firm's non-court dispute resolution ethos wherever appropriate
- Participating in business development activities
Childcare Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 5+ years' PQE in family childcare law
- Strong advocacy skills and experience in complex care proceedings
- Thorough knowledge of childcare law including PLO, adoption and private law applications
- Empathy with the Resolution ethos and a child-focused, principled approach to dispute resolution
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Proactive, organised and a strong team player
