About the Role
You will support an experienced team of specialist lawyers across a wide range of complex claims, with a particular focus on high-value birth injury cases. There is clear scope to take on greater responsibility over time, including drafting, attending conferences and shadowing at court.
Paralegal Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, insurers and other solicitors on behalf of the team
- Opening, closing and archiving files and maintaining accurate case records
- Obtaining and collating medical records and preparing chronologies
- Managing diaries, appointments and conference arrangements
- Processing invoices in liaison with the accounts team
- Document production, case management and use of external portals and spreadsheets
- With experience: reviewing expert reports, drafting witness statements and pleadings, and attending conferences and court hearings
Paralegal Requirements
Essential
- Previous legal work experience and genuine interest in clinical negligence
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new systems
- Able to work independently and under supervision
- Proactive, approachable, and a strong team player
Desirable
- Degree-level education or equivalent
- Previous clinical negligence experience
