About the Role
This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Litigation lawyer to manage a diverse caseload of commercial disputes, from contract disputes and shareholder issues to debt recovery and professional negligence claims, working with the autonomy to run matters your way while having the backing of experienced colleagues when needed. Commercial Litigation Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing your own diverse caseload of commercial disputes
- Handling commercial contract disputes, breach of warranty claims, and business-to-business litigation
- Advising on and resolving shareholder disputes, partnership disagreements, and company law disputes
- Handling professional negligence claims and defending professionals against claims
- Advising on employment tribunal matters and workplace disputes
- Managing insolvency-related disputes and creditor claims
- Conducting negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Representing clients in court hearings and tribunal proceedings
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with commercial clients across diverse sectors
- Working towards taking on team management and mentoring responsibilities
- Ensuring all matters comply with professional conduct rules and regulatory standards
Commercial Litigation Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with ideally 5+ years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
- Strong technical capability across commercial dispute work including contract disputes and business litigation
- Proven track record of managing contentious matters independently from inception to resolution
- Experience conducting negotiations, mediations, and court/tribunal advocacy
- Comfortable winning work and developing client relationships through business development activities
- Excellent advocacy skills and confidence in contentious situations
- Strong analytical abilities with practical, commercial approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues when required
- Proficient with litigation case management systems and legal research tools
