About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced commercial team and gain exposure to a diverse and interesting caseload of corporate and commercial work. You'll be working on corporate sales and acquisitions, shareholder and investor agreements, and a broad range of commercial contracts, advising everyone from owner-managed businesses and start-ups to national groups and long-established entities.
This role is ideal for an ambitious lawyer who enjoys the variety and challenge of commercial work and wants to build strong client relationships through providing clear, commercial, and accessible advice.
Company Commercial Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of corporate and commercial matters with appropriate supervision
- Working on corporate sales and acquisitions for businesses of varying sizes and sectors
- Drafting and negotiating shareholder agreements, investor agreements, and articles of association
- Preparing and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
- Advising owner-managed businesses, start-ups, national groups, and established entities
- Providing client-focused, commercial, and understandable advice tailored to each client's needs
- Building lasting client relationships through excellent service delivery
- Working collaboratively within the commercial team and with other departments
- Promoting the firm's services and developing personal connections for business development
- Seeking advice and assistance from senior colleagues to develop knowledge and skills
Company Commercial Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or experienced Paralegal
- Ideally 2 years' PQE with at least 1 year's experience in commercial/corporate matters
- Ability to work effectively within a team whilst managing individual caseload with supervision
- Willingness to promote the firm and develop personal connections for business development
- Professional, organised, and competent approach to work
- Enthusiastic and ambitious with genuine desire for career development
- Strong communication skills with ability to provide clear, accessible advice to clients
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to seek advice to develop skills and knowledge
- Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
