About the Client
Our client is a well-established law firm with a significant national presence and a dedicated construction disputes practice spanning multiple UK offices. They offer a collaborative, flexible working culture with genuine investment in their people's development and long-term careers.
About the Role
You will join a 27-strong national contentious construction team, handling a broad range of UK construction disputes for private and public sector clients including developers, major contractors, consultants and public sector bodies. The role offers the opportunity to work across all major standard form contracts, contribute to business development, and play a leading role in a high-performing team.
Construction Disputes Lawyer Responsibilities
- Handling a broad range of contentious construction matters including adjudication, mediation, litigation and pre-action protocol claims
- Advising on contractual interpretation, dispute avoidance and risk management
- Advising on professional negligence matters
- Collaborating with colleagues across other offices and practice areas, including the London real estate practice
- Managing and supervising junior associates
- Building and maintaining effective client relationships
- Actively contributing to business development and raising the firm's profile
- Participating in firm-wide and departmental training
Construction Disputes Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 8+ years' experience in contentious construction
- Experience across all forms of dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration and adjudication
- Knowledge and experience of JCT, FIDIC and NEC standard form contracts
- Understanding of the Building Safety Act and its implications for the sector
- Experience acting for large, high-profile private or social developers
- Proven ability to manage files and supervise junior lawyers
- Strong business development credentials with drive and enthusiasm to match
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, flexible approach

- Experience of complex, high-value defect disputes
- Exposure to international matters
