About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Corporate Commercial lawyer to take real ownership of their caseload and career trajectory within a supportive, growth-focused environment. You'll handle a varied mix of corporate transactions and commercial matters, from company acquisitions and restructuring to commercial contracts and business advisory work.
Corporate Commercial Lawyer Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of a varied corporate and commercial caseload with autonomy over matter management
- Advising companies on restructuring, corporate governance, and statutory compliance
- Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and trading agreements
- Preparing corporate documentation including shareholders' agreements, articles of association, and partnership structures
- Supporting clients with contract reviews, supplier and distribution agreements, and terms of business
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships across diverse business sectors
- Taking an active role in business development, marketing, and networking to grow your practice
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across employment, property, dispute resolution, and other teams
- Progressing towards team management responsibilities with appropriate support
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and firm policies
Corporate Commercial Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with ideally 5+ years' PQE in corporate and commercial practice
- Solid technical foundation across corporate transactions and commercial contracting
- Demonstrable capability to run matters independently from instruction through to completion
- Track record of advising businesses on acquisitions, company law matters, and commercial agreements
- Comfortable with business development and confident in client-facing situations
- Understanding of law firm compliance and regulatory requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with commercial clients
- Commercial mindset and ability to provide practical, business-focused advice
- Flexible approach and adaptability to different working styles
- Comfortable working with legal technology and case management platforms
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach with ambition for career progression
