About the Role
This is an outstanding consultancy opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Commercial lawyer who wants complete control over their practice while benefiting from the support and infrastructure of an established, well-regarded firm. Operating on a fee-share basis, you'll have total autonomy to manage your own client base, set your own working patterns, and work from anywhere in the UK. You'll handle corporate transactions and commercial matters according to your expertise and interests – whether that's mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, or general business advisory work. The beauty of this consultancy model is the flexibility: you can be based anywhereand work the hours that suit you.
Corporate Commercial Lawyer - Consultant Responsibilities
- Managing your own corporate and commercial client base with complete autonomy
- Handling business acquisitions and disposals including share purchases, asset deals, and due diligence
- Advising companies on restructuring, corporate governance, and statutory compliance
- Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and trading agreements
- Preparing corporate documentation including shareholders' agreements, articles of association, and partnership structures
- Supporting clients with contract reviews, supplier and distribution agreements, and terms of business
- Advising on joint ventures and commercial collaborations
- Managing your own business development, marketing, and networking activities
- Collaborating with other consultants and team members across different practice areas when beneficial
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and professional requirements
- Working from your chosen location with access to serviced offices as needed
Corporate Commercial Lawyer - Consultant Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial PQE in corporate and commercial practice
- Proven track record in corporate transactions and commercial contracting
- Established ability to manage matters independently and run your own practice
- Existing client base or strong confidence in developing one
- Experience advising businesses on acquisitions, company law matters, and commercial agreements
- Strong business development skills and entrepreneurial mindset
- Understanding of law firm compliance and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with commercial clients
- Commercial mindset and ability to provide practical, business-focused advice
- Comfortable working with legal technology and digital collaboration tools
- Professional indemnity insurance or willingness to obtain appropriate cover
