Their Litigation Department comprises ten fee earners with support staff, offering a professional and friendly atmosphere. About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to expand the employment services currently offered by the Litigation team. You'll take ownership and responsibility for your own employment caseload while using your initiative to grow this area of work. Initially focused on business development, you'll be based in the Exeter office (minimum three days per week) with hybrid working available after probation. This role offers genuine autonomy and scope to develop the employment practice.
Employment Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing employment matters from instruction through to resolution
- Advising employers and employees on employment law issues
- Growing the employment work using your own initiative
- Involvement in the firm's marketing and business development plan
- Having and following through ideas for actively developing new sources of employment work
- Attending client meetings and marketing events across various offices
- Representing clients in employment tribunal proceedings
- Providing strategic employment law advice
- Building and maintaining client relationships
Employment Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3 to 5 years' PQE in employment
- Ability to take ownership of own caseload
- Strong business development skills and/or client following
- Initiative and drive to grow employment work
- Willingness to learn new areas of litigation (for candidates with greater PQE)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to professional development
