Their Environmental team has grown significantly over the last six years and operates from London, Exeter, and Manchester. About The Role
This full-time permanent position based in Exeter, offering flexibility in location choice. You'll be working seamlessly with colleagues and clients across the country, supporting the lead environmental partner while having significant opportunity to assist in the future development of the firm's environmental offering both inside and outside of London. This is a genuine opportunity to develop a strong practice within a nationally recognized team that advises on all contentious and non-contentious aspects of the environmental regime.
Senior Environmental Lawyer Responsibilities
- Advise on wide range of environmental and legal matters across both contentious and non-contentious work
- Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters ensuring adherence to environmental laws
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations across various sectors
- Assist with Environmental Information Regulation queries and related matters
- Conduct environmental due diligence on commercial and corporate transactions
- Build and maintain effective client relationships across private and public sectors
- Actively participate in marketing initiatives to grow the environmental practice
- Support future development of firm's environmental offering across multiple offices
- Work seamlessly with colleagues in Public Sector, Real Estate, Construction, and Corporate teams
- Ensure files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures
- Participate in firm-wide and departmental training sessions
- Provide training and development to junior legal staff and support teams where appropriate
Senior Environmental Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with minimum 6 years' experience in environmental law
- Strong academic record demonstrating intellectual capability
- Exceptional technical legal skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files independently where appropriate
- Unwavering client focus with track record of superior service delivery
- Sharp commercial awareness and strategic thinking capabilities
- Natural credibility and gravitas in client-facing situations
- Methodical, disciplined, and highly organised approach to complex matters
- Outstanding communication skills across all mediums and audiences
- Experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious environmental matters
- Ability to work seamlessly with colleagues across multiple offices and practice areas
