About the Role
Based in Teignmouth, you will manage your own varied caseload of estate administration matters while becoming an integral part of the local community and the wider Wealth Management team. This is a fully office-based, client-facing role offering genuine responsibility, strong professional relationships and the opportunity to grow alongside a firm investing in its future across Teignbridge.
Estate Administration Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of taxable and non-taxable estate administration matters from start to finish
- Handling all aspects of estate administration including inheritance tax reporting, grants of representation, estate accounts and distributions
- Drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney for clients as required
- Meeting with clients both in the office and at their homes where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and referrers
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider Wealth Management team on succession planning, trusts and tax matters
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate
- Contributing to the team's profile and reputation within the local community
Estate Administration Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with around 3 years' PQE in estate administration, though candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered
- Comfortable managing both taxable and non-taxable estates from instruction through to distribution
- Able to draft wills and lasting powers of attorney
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to support clients through difficult times
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-focused approach
- Well organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a caseload effectively
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
