About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Family Childcare department, managing a caseload of complex childcare matters including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, adoption, and private law applications. You'll represent clients in court, conduct advocacy, and provide specialist strategic legal advice while being supported by a dedicated and efficient team.
Family Childcare Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing caseload of childcare matters including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, adoption and private law applications
- Attending and representing clients in court and tribunals, conducting advocacy where required
- Providing specialist and strategic legal advice to clients on child protection matters, policy and procedures
- Handling all aspects of care proceedings from initial applications to final court judgements
- Advising and representing clients on issues of contact with children in care and adoption proceedings
- Advising on processes surrounding children becoming or ceasing to be looked after
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Involvement in business development activities
Family Childcare Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or Legal Executive (with practicing rights)
- Proven expertise in handling child arrangements orders
- Significant experience practicing family law in complex childcare matters
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Advocacy skills essential
- Local professional connections advantageous
