About the Role
This is a full-time position for an experienced Family Lawyer to join their specialist Family Team based in Crewkerne, with opportunities to work from other office locations as needed. The Family Department has accredited lawyers specialising in divorce, separation, children, domestic abuse, and financial matters arising from relationship breakdown. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the department while supporting junior team members.
Family Lawyer Responsibilities
- Handle divorce cases including middle/high net worth matrimonial matters
- Manage cases involving pensions, businesses, inherited wealth, and farming assets
- Advise on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
- Handle private law children and domestic abuse matters
- Develop and maintain business relationships with referrers
- Support and mentor junior members of the team
- Engage in business development and marketing activities
- Produce documents and correspondence using case management systems
- Meet financial and non-financial targets
- Follow procedures in accordance with professional requirements
- Work across different office locations as business needs require
Family Lawyer Requirements
- 8+ years PQE preferred (though experienced candidates with less PQE will be considered)
- Excellent technical knowledge in family law
- Strong business development capabilities
- Ability to engage with the local community
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Flexible approach with ability to flourish in a team environment
- Commercial awareness and business aptitude
- Excellent IT skills including case management software
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
- Full driving license
