About the Role
This full-time permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to join a busy family and matrimonial department in Cullompton. You'll be working as part of a dedicated team, handling a comprehensive range of family law matters while building strong client relationships and contributing to the department's growth. The role offers excellent scope for professional development and the chance to build expertise across all areas of family law practice.
Family Lawyer Responsibilities
- Manage own day-to-day caseload effectively while maintaining exceptional standards of client care
- Handle diverse family law matters including divorce, civil partnership, separation, and cohabitee issues
- Advise clients on complex family finance matters and children-related issues
- Perform all work accurately, reliably, and in accordance with firm's risk management procedures
- Keep up to date with changes and developments in family law and related legislation
- Build and maintain a strong network of professional contacts and referrers
- Play an active part in marketing the department and promoting services
- Assist with building and maintaining strong client relations throughout cases
- Provide compassionate, practical advice during emotionally challenging situations
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional requirements
- Participate in continuous professional development and training programs
Family Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with family law experience or strong interest
- Bright, enthusiastic approach with genuine commitment to exceptional client care
- Computer literate with proficiency in legal software systems
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage own caseload effectively
- Excellent communication skills with empathy and sensitivity for family matters
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to maintaining high professional standards
- Willingness to contribute to business development and marketing activities
- Willingness to undergo DBS check as required for the position
