About the Role
This full-time position arises due to the retirement of an existing Family Partner. Based in modern offices in the heart of Poole, this role involves running a full caseload of high-value Family law matters, with a particular focus on general matrimonial and financial matrimonial work. You will also supervise a small team of lawyers and support staff, so regular on-site attendance is expected, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week.
There will be occasional travel required for client meetings, court hearings, and locally to other offices, as well as attendance at external networking events to support the growth and profile of the Family team.
Family Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing a full caseload of complex matrimonial and financial remedy matters
- Providing expert legal advice and representation in court
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff
- Building and promoting the Family Law practice in Poole and surrounding areas
- Maintaining excellent client service and relationships
- Attending networking events to generate new work
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards
Family Lawyer Requirements
- Experienced Solicitor/Legal Exec with significant expertise in high-value matrimonial and financial remedy work
- Strong advocacy skills with extensive court experience
- Proven ability to run your own caseload and lead a team
- Reside within one hour’s commuting distance of the Poole office
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to network, promote the practice and contribute commercially
- High professional integrity and confidentiality awareness
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Professional presentation and resilience
- Experience with Case Management and digital dictation systems
- Local area knowledge
