About The Role
As Wealth Management Assistant, you will provide proactive administrative and organisational support to the Wealth Management team, enabling lawyers to deliver the highest levels of client care. Based in Exeter, this role offers variety and responsibility across a wide range of tasks, from direct client contact to essential administrative duties. You will be a key point of contact for clients and play an important role in ensuring that the department runs smoothly and efficiently.
Wealth Management Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the Wealth Management team, ensuring lawyers can work efficiently and effectively.
- Open, close, and archive client files accurately and in a timely manner.
- Undertake audio- and copy-typing, proof reading, and updating dictated work.
- Manage incoming client enquiries by email and telephone, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Assist with document and payment production, as well as storage and retrieval of deeds and other documents.
- Support lawyers with diary management, scheduling, and general administrative responsibilities.
- Act as a first point of contact for new client enquiries, ensuring they receive information promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a calm and sympathetic approach when dealing with clients, including those in vulnerable circumstances.
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives and contribute to the team’s supportive culture.
Wealth Management Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience in a legal administrative or secretarial role is advantageous, ideally in Wills, Trusts, or Probate, but not essential.
OR
- Recent graduates or individuals looking to begin a career in Wealth Management law are also encouraged to apply.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Calm, empathetic, and professional approach, particularly when working with clients and their families.
- Proactive with initiative, problem-solving skills, and a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team and independently when required.
