About the Role
You will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the New Homes conveyancing team, assisting with the smooth processing of new home purchases from start to finish. This is a fully office-based, in-person role split across the Taunton and Wellington offices.
Legal Assistant Responsibilities
- Assisting conveyancers with new home purchase transactions from instruction to completion
- Supporting file opening and initial client care processes including identity checks and AML compliance
- Liaising with clients, estate agents and other stakeholders to gather necessary documentation
- Responding to client and third party enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintaining accurate records of correspondence and documentation using the case management system
- Printing reports on title and ensuring all enclosures are copied, scanned and included accurately
- Scheduling appointments, managing files and providing general administrative support
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies throughout
Legal Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within a law firm
OR
- Solid administration experience with an interest in law
- Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the role
