About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Civil Litigation Solicitor to join a busy department following a senior team member's retirement. You'll manage a varied civil litigation caseload while leading the firm's Personal Injury practice. The role offers genuine autonomy with the opportunity to provide guidance to junior lawyers. This position is specifically aimed at candidates seeking the next step towards Partnership.
Personal Injury Lawyer Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the firm's Personal Injury practice
- Managing a varied caseload of Personal Injury and civil litigation matters
- Handling contentious probate and debt recovery work
- Attending court hearings and representing clients
- Providing supervision to junior lawyers and support staff
- Meeting and exceeding fee earning and billing targets
- Building client relationships and promoting the Personal Injury practice
- Working collaboratively within the litigation department
Personal Injury Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor/Legal Exec with 5+ years PQE in Civil Litigation
- Proven experience in Personal Injury matters (essential)
- Working knowledge of Contentious Probate and Debt recovery (desirable)
- Experience attending court hearings
- Ability to manage own caseload with minimal supervision
- Previous supervisory experience with junior staff
- Strong business development and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of case management systems
- Excellent communication and time management skills
