Role Overview
As a Private Client Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive, you will play a vital role in handling high-quality private client work, managing your own files with minimal supervision while also supporting more complex matters led by partners. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer to develop their career within a supportive team environment where senior fee earners are always available for guidance.
Private Client Solicitor Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of private client matters independently
- Provide comprehensive estate administration services
- Draft and advise on Wills, Codicils, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Deliver inheritance tax planning and family succession advice
- Support partners on more complex matters
- Contribute to the department's ongoing development and growth
- Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues
Private Client Solicitor Requirements:
- Approximately 3 years PQE as a Solicitor or CILEX
- Proven experience in a Private Client Department
- Strong technical knowledge of private client law
- Excellent IT skills, including case management software and Excel proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise effectively
- Superior organisational and time management skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Thorough understanding of professional compliance requirements (e.g., Lexcel)
- Commercial awareness and sound business judgment
- Flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork
- Commitment to maintaining high professional standards
