Role Overview
As a Private Client Lawyer within their largest department, you will handle a diverse range of private client matters while working as part of a successful team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level lawyer to develop their practice with the support of experienced colleagues, with clear progression routes to Associate level and beyond. While primarily office-based in Dorchester, flexible working arrangements may be available for the right candidate.
Private Client Lawyer Responsibilities:
- Draft and execute comprehensive Wills
- Manage Deputyship applications and ongoing matters
- Handle Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection cases
- Administer Trusts and Estates
- Contribute to team targets and business development
- Manage independent caseload with appropriate supervision
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support department growth initiatives
Private Client Lawyer Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx (NQ-5 years PQE)
- Comprehensive private client experience
- Strong technical knowledge across all core practice areas
- Ability to meet fee-earning and billing targets
- Excellent file management capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Business development aptitude
- Professional and client-focused approach
- Valid driving license and own transport
- STEP qualification or willingness to pursue STEP desirable
