About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Private Client lawyer to take on a varied and interesting caseload whilst playing a key role in supporting team leadership and development. You'll work with high-net-worth individuals and business clients on complex and rewarding matters, whilst also contributing to the strategic growth of the team. The role offers genuine scope for professional development, involvement in business development activities, and the chance to work collaboratively across multiple practice areas.
Private Client Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse and interesting client caseload including estate administration (including high-value estates and estates with business and agricultural assets)
- Providing lifetime planning advice for high-net-worth individuals and business clients
- Advising on succession planning and elderly client matters
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with other internal teams including Family, Real Estate, Corporate, and Contentious Probate/Trusts to support cross-referrals
- Taking an active role in supporting team leadership by contributing to management activities
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff members
- Ensuring Lexcel compliance and supporting day-to-day operations
- Engaging in business development activities
- Supporting the ongoing review and improvement of team processes, precedents, and working practices
Private Client Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 5+ years' PQE
- STEP qualified or equivalent experience preferred (but not essential)
- Ambitious and commercially minded with a desire for personal and professional growth
- Confident managing your own caseload whilst working collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to outstanding client care
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently in a busy professional environment
- Proficient with IT systems including case management software
