About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Private Client team comprising 2 partners, 7 solicitors, 3 legal executives, and 7 paralegals. You'll advise individuals, companies, and trusts both in the UK and internationally on all types of private client work including wills, trusts, probate, and tax planning, with supervision responsibilities for junior staff.
Private Client Lawyer Responsibilities
- Estate and asset protection planning
- Drafting wills including tax-efficient wills and those incorporating trusts
- Creating onshore trusts including drafting and advising
- Probate planning, estate administration and preparing powers of attorney
- Handling Court of Protection matters
- Advising on residence and domicile planning (inbound and outbound)
- Supervision, training, and development of junior legal staff
- Pro-active participation in marketing initiatives
- Efficient file management ensuring Lexcel compliance
Private Client Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 6 years' PQE in private client work
- Previous experience of estate planning, trusts, probate, and tax matters
- STEP member or working towards STEP qualification strongly desired
- Proven ability to manage files independently
- Client management experience with good understanding of financial disciplines
- Excellent technical skills with innovative approach
- Strong client focus and commitment to service delivery
- Interest in marketing and business development
- Good communication skills and commercial awareness
- Strong team player with collaborative approach
- Solid academic record
