About the Role
You will take ownership of a varied private client caseload, working with a degree of autonomy while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. The role is full-time and office-based in Tavistock, reflecting the firm's commitment to delivering a genuinely personal, face-to-face service to its clients.
Private Client Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of private client matters including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, estate and trust administration, and inheritance tax planning
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
- Contributing to the growth and development of the Private Client department
- Cross-referring work and collaborating with colleagues across the firm
- Taking financial responsibility for your matters including billing and cash flow management
- Maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system
- Ensuring compliance with SRA standards and firm policies
Private Client Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 3–5 years' PQE in private client work
- Strong technical knowledge across wills, trusts, estate administration and IHT planning
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills
- Well organised with strong time management and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Good IT skills and ability to adapt to case management systems
Desirable
- STEP qualification
- SFE accreditation
- Full, clean driving licence (occasional client travel required)
