About the Role
This permanent position offers hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to balance professional excellence with the lifestyle benefits of rural Cornwall. With a minimum of 3 years' PQE required, you'll be managing a comprehensive caseload of commercial and residential property transactions while playing a vital role in mentoring junior team members and contributing to the firm's continued success.
Property Lawyer Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on wide range of commercial and residential property matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, contracts, leases, and agreements
- Oversee successful execution of property transactions ensuring compliance with legal requirements and deadlines
- Handle negotiations for landlord and tenant leases, development agreements, and property finance matters
- Manage acquisitions of development sites, portfolio acquisitions and sales, and overage arrangements
- Supervise and mentor trainee solicitors, legal assistants, and junior team members
- Stay current with legal developments, legislation changes, and industry best practices through CPD
- Collaborate across the firm to deliver seamless, exceptional client service
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and professional networks
Property Lawyer Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with minimum 3 years' PQE
- Proven experience in Commercial and Residential Property Law with solid understanding of legal principles
- Experience negotiating leases, development agreements, property finance, and portfolio transactions
- Knowledge of acquisitions, sales, overages, and freehold purchases
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to build strong relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and leadership capabilities with commitment to developing others
- Proficiency with relevant IT systems, software, and Microsoft Office applications
Desirable:
- Familiarity with rural and agricultural property matters
- Knowledge of SOS document management system
