About The Role
This full-time permanent position is based in Exeter with hybrid working arrangements. You'll be working as both a core team member on large interdisciplinary national residential portfolio transactions and as a lead solicitor on significant property charging and securitisation transactions. The role offers genuine responsibility, client contact, and the opportunity to work with the firm's innovative AI tools while building expertise in this specialised area of real estate finance.
Real Estate Finance Associate Responsibilities
National Portfolio Transactions:
- Work as core team member with colleagues across the country on large interdisciplinary and national residential portfolio transactions for registered providers, institutions, local authorities, and investors
- Assist with application of firm's AI products to enhance service delivery
- Work with transactional colleagues to draft appropriate contract provisions including conditionality arising from due diligence
- Prepare reports and draft emails of advice to clients on due diligence exercise outcomes and propose solutions
- Assist with project management and task delegation including supervision of other team members
- Liaise with professional support team and carry out legal research
Property Charging and Securitisation Transactions:
- Lead significant property charging and securitisation transactions for registered providers to raise funds for development, maintenance, and acquisition programmes
- Work closely with national portfolio team and banking and finance colleagues to coordinate transactions
- Review initial due diligence information including searches results and title information
- Liaise with innovation team to ensure effective application of AI tools for transactions
- Provide due diligence support for merger transactions, development and regeneration schemes
- Advise on valuation implications of mortgagee exclusion clauses
- Build and maintain effective client relationships including participation in marketing initiatives
Real Estate Finance Associate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive at Associate level with real estate finance experience
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files independently where appropriate
- Strong client focus and service delivery with excellent relationship-building skills
- Commerciality and business acumen with understanding of financing structures
- Drive and enthusiasm for real estate finance work
- Methodical, disciplined, and organised approach to complex transactions
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong team player who collaborates effectively across offices and disciplines
- Commitment to utilising innovative technology and AI tools
