Avocet Legal Careers has an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Managing Associate to join our highly respected client within their Farms, Estates and Rural Land (FERL) team.
You will work closely with their lead Partner and a renowned, innovative team of experts in agricultural law, offering both regional and national experience with a breadth and depth of knowledge in high-value and complex farming and land matters.
Managing Associate Responsibilities:
- Contribute significantly to the ongoing growth and development of our Farms, Estates and Rural Land practice, as well as the wider Real Estate Group
- Lead on a diverse range of matters directly while supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Collaborate seamlessly with teams from across the firm, including energy and developer sectors
- Manage a comprehensive caseload, including litigation or transactional matters related to rural land and farming
- Provide trusted legal advice and achieve optimal commercial solutions for clients
Managing Associate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, ideally with experience in rural law at a senior level
- Proven track record in either litigation or transactional work related to rural land and agriculture
- For litigation, experience in areas such as landlord/tenant disputes, farming partnership disputes, nuisance claims, rights of way disputes, landed estate work, contentious receivership work, and regulatory disputes related to rural land
- For transactional work, experience in farm and land sales/purchases, country house sales/purchases, refinance work, receiverships of rural property, easements and licenses, and rural tenancies
- Excellent rapport-building and communication skills, with the ability to establish and deepen trusted relationships with clients
- Proactive engagement in business development opportunities and a strong understanding of clients' commercial contexts
- Ability to provide relevant, timely, and practical legal advice to clients
