About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to run your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters in the Newton Abbot office, supported by a full-time dedicated Legal Assistant. You'll handle sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity with genuine autonomy, balanced by appropriate supervision when needed. The role offers excellent scope for an experienced conveyancer who wants responsibility within a supportive environment that values both professional excellence and work-life balance.
Residential Conveyancer Responsibilities
- Running your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction to completion
- Managing freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity
- Providing quality legal advice to clients on all aspects of residential property transactions
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors
- Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion matters
- Building strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
- Working collaboratively with your dedicated Legal Assistant
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Meeting billing targets and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence
Residential Conveyancer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer
- Proven experience running your own residential conveyancing caseload
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property law
- Ability to manage matters independently with supervision available when needed
- Excellent communication skills and client care abilities
- Motivated and ambitious with genuine desire for career progression
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Professional, friendly approach aligned with the firm's values
- Proficiency with case management systems
