About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established Conveyancing team at a highly accredited firm, managing your own residential conveyancing caseload with support and supervision from experienced conveyancing partners. Based primarily in the Wells office, you'll be handling a varied mix of residential property transactions while also playing a role in managing, supporting, and directing support staff within the department. The role offers genuine autonomy balanced with appropriate support, making it ideal for a conveyancer who wants responsibility for their own matters while knowing expert guidance is available when needed. You'll be working within a firm that prioritises quality service delivery and provides the tools, training, and support necessary to excel in your role.
Residential Conveyancer Responsibilities
- Managing your own residential conveyancing caseload with supervision and support from conveyancing partners as required
- Handling sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers from instruction through to completion
- Providing quality legal advice on all aspects of residential conveyancing
- Delivering high-quality legal services to clients and other professionals
- Assisting and supporting the Partners as required on more complex matters
- Managing, supporting, and directing support staff within the Residential Conveyancing department
- Meeting billing and time recording targets set each month
- Developing legal practice skills and knowledge through continuous learning
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ensuring compliance with all professional and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate file records and case management system entries
- Liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties
Residential Conveyancing Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with legal experience in residential conveyancing
- Strong technical knowledge of conveyancing law and practice
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and professional rules
- Experience using case management systems
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook and Word
- Understanding of office procedures and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage own caseload effectively with appropriate supervision
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with clients and professionals
- Ability to manage, support, and direct support staff
- Discretion and professionalism in all aspects of the role
- Commitment to meeting billing and time recording targets
