About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Property lawyer to step into a senior role within an expanding Commercial team. You'll manage your own caseload of purely transactional and commercial property matters while taking a leading role in developing the team and building on the firm's existing success. The position offers genuine autonomy and responsibility, with opportunities to bring specialist knowledge to complement the team's broad range of expertise. Working across multiple offices with flexibility for home working, you'll handle a diverse mix of commercial property transactions while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the strategic development of the department. Senior Commercial Property Lawyer Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of commercial property transactions independently
- Handling commercial property acquisitions and disposals for business clients, investors, and developers
- Advising on and negotiating commercial leases, including retail, office, and industrial premises
- Advising on development agreements, option agreements, and overage arrangements
- Handling sales and purchases of investment properties and commercial portfolios
- Providing strategic property advice to business clients, charities, and rural enterprises
- Managing and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff
- Contributing to team development, training, and knowledge sharing
- Building and maintaining excellent client relationships with prompt, clear communication
- Developing business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the department
- Working collaboratively with partners and colleagues across the firm
- Maintaining effective communication with team members across multiple offices
Senior Commercial Property Lawyer Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor/Legal Exec with substantial PQE in commercial property law
- Strong technical knowledge across all aspects of commercial property transactions
- Specialist knowledge in niche areas of commercial property would be advantageous
- Proven ability to manage complex matters independently from instruction to completion
- Demonstrable experience managing staff and leading teams
- Strong management and mentoring skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high-quality work standards
- Enthusiastic, hard-working team player with excellent work ethic
- Confident in your abilities with strong client-facing skills
- Commercial awareness and business development capability
- Experience with case management systems
- Ability to work effectively across multiple office locations and remotely
